Cake Pop Fail Friday: Droopy Footballs

Today's pop fail comes from none other than TADA! SusAnna's Sweets!  Yes, we are finally sharing one of our own pop fails.  And what a fail it is.

Meet

The Droopy Footballs.

Now these footballs aren't horrid.  It's kind of one of those things where when you ask someone if they like it and they go, "Weeeeellllll, it's not the worst football I've ever seen!"  And they say it like it's the best compliment in the world which really only makes you want to gather up all the little brown turds and chuck it at their head as quickly and forcefully as possible.

But don't worry.  This post is about to get better.  And if you read our blog regularly, this should still be fresh in your mind:

This was on our Helpful Tips Tuesday post and I don't know about you, but an image like that is not easily erased from my mind.

A football helmet.  That was the vision.  Not so easily executed.

So it's been a droopy kind of week, but we won't give up!  We are determined to master this football nonsense!  And when we do, you'll be the first to hear about it!

Cake Pop Fail Friday: 'A' for Effort!

Today's fail is from Meredith at The Mom of the Year, and she definitely gets the 'A' for Effort award!  When you are in the middle of a baking fail, all you want to do is throw in the towel, go to bed (if you do most of your baking at night like I do!) and just hope to God the cleaning fairy will find your kitchen before morning.  But the true heroes blaze on through the sweat and tears and see the thing through!  I think her end result actually ended up pretty cute, don't you?  Read it HERE.

Cake Pop Fail Friday: It's Not My Fault!

Today's fail post comes from Rachel at Grasping for Objectivity.  I think I giggled the whole way through this post.  She is a good story-teller and has a great sense of humor.  Read about her cake pop experience HERE!

Cake Pop Fail: If At First You Don't Succeed...

I have heard people say making cake pops is surprisingly easy, and I have heard people say they will never do it again as long as they live.  A lot of variables go into cake pop making, and I love it when I come across someone who at first doesn't succeed, but then tries again and reports success!  Today's fail post has two sides.  When this blogger from What Will We Do Today? turned out not so great cake pops, she tried again a week later with much greater results!  Read her post here --> CLICK!

Cake Pop Fail Friday: Friar Tuck

Today's fail comes from Crafting With Intention. It is very true that cake pops can be deceiving.  Some bakers make these little treats look so easy to construct, when in reality there are a few tricks of the trade that are essential in making them "easy".  They do, indeed, take a lot of patience and a love for detail!  Read the fail post HERE.

Cake Pop Fail Friday

I have been baking ever since I was a little girl.  I love it.  Baked goods are my weakness.
I also grew up on a farm, where it was not unusual to have a large litter of puppies running around at any given time.  (It ties into the story, I promise.)  One day, I baked a cake.  Baked the whole thing without tasting it.  Finally stuck my finger into the bowl right before popping it in the oven...and almost got sick right then and there.  It was like salt water.  I had forgot to put the sugar in!  I didn't realize this until much later, and promptly decided the entire cake was ruined.  So, knowing that we had a million puppies outside and knowing that they would eat pretty much anything, I took the batter outside, and dumped it into their bowl.  They all converged on it like bees to honey.  Then, one by one, they started backing away from the batter and retching.  I had just made a cake that made dogs sick.  Clearly I did not have a future in the baking business world.

Today's cake pop fail comes from Colleen.  Read her hilarious cake pop encounter HERE.

Don't forget, if you have a cake pop fail story or know someone who does, email it to me (www.SusAnnasSweets<at>gmail<dot>com)!!  You could be featured on one of SusAnna's Sweets' Cake Pop Fail Fridays!
