I have heard people say making cake pops is surprisingly easy, and I have heard people say they will never do it again as long as they live. A lot of variables go into cake pop making, and I love it when I come across someone who at first doesn't succeed, but then tries again and reports success! Today's fail post has two sides. When this blogger from What Will We Do Today? turned out not so great cake pops, she tried again a week later with much greater results! Read her post here --> CLICK!

Helpful Tips Tuesday: Duh
Welcome to Helpful Tips Tuesday! Is that a thing? It is now! I hope to start posting these every week. Some tips will be funny, some tips will actually be helpful if you like to make cake pops, and some tips will have absolutely no purpose whatsoever other than to simply state the obvious. Just warning you. :)
This brings me to our first tip. Tip #892. Huh? Just roll with it... When dipping your pops, it is pretty important to NOT brush up against it while it is still wet. And yes, it will still be wet if it has only been approximately 3 seconds since you stuck it into the styrofoam. So the next time you want to reach way back and pick up a pop from the very back of your styrofoam, try not to mutilate the ones you just stuck in the front.
You're welcome.

Summer Beach Cake Pops
Beach/Summer Themed Pops |
These pops are bound to make you smile!
Summer Sunshine Pops |
I love using the yellow melts. The shade is awesome, so cheery and bright, and it dips perfectly without have to thin out the melts at all. Simply divine. I don't consider myself an artist by any means, but I am really happy with how these sunny faces turned out!
Beach Ball Pops |
In keeping with the summer theme, these beach balls were also fun to create! I did them in pastel colors because those were the colors I had on hand, but they could also be done in primary colors.
Starfish in the Sand Pops |
I'm still not sure that these will make the cut for shipping due to the delicacy of the starfish, but they are cute! I've always said that summer is not my favorite season, but this collection of beach pops just might change my mind yet!

Cake Pop Fail Friday: Friar Tuck
Today's fail comes from Crafting With Intention. It is very true that cake pops can be deceiving. Some bakers make these little treats look so easy to construct, when in reality there are a few tricks of the trade that are essential in making them "easy". They do, indeed, take a lot of patience and a love for detail! Read the fail post HERE.

Cake Pop Fail Friday
I have been baking ever since I was a little girl. I love it. Baked goods are my weakness.
I also grew up on a farm, where it was not unusual to have a large litter of puppies running around at any given time. (It ties into the story, I promise.) One day, I baked a cake. Baked the whole thing without tasting it. Finally stuck my finger into the bowl right before popping it in the oven...and almost got sick right then and there. It was like salt water. I had forgot to put the sugar in! I didn't realize this until much later, and promptly decided the entire cake was ruined. So, knowing that we had a million puppies outside and knowing that they would eat pretty much anything, I took the batter outside, and dumped it into their bowl. They all converged on it like bees to honey. Then, one by one, they started backing away from the batter and retching. I had just made a cake that made dogs sick. Clearly I did not have a future in the baking business world.
Don't forget, if you have a cake pop fail story or know someone who does, email it to me (www.SusAnnasSweets<at>gmail<dot>com)!! You could be featured on one of SusAnna's Sweets' Cake Pop Fail Fridays!

Fourth of July Cake Pops and Bites
Happy Fourth of July! I love these colors together. They just fit.
Cake pops are so popular right now that I can probably count on two hands the number of times we've made cake bites.
Just as cute, just as yummy, just as awesome!
Have a safe and sweet holiday!
